Note Update to the Sr. Champ Engine Rules as of March 8th, 2008

 

Econo Rookie: 4-11 years of age, 250 pound minimum / purple restrictor - $15 entry - 70% Payback

Econo Jr: 11-15 years of age, 300 pound minimum /gold restrictor - $15/entry -70% Payback

Econo Sr: 13-up years of age, 360 pound minimum. 13-14 year old drivers must have 3 years experience.- $20/entry - 70% Payback

Briggs Rookie: 7-12 years of age, 250 pound minimum. - $15 entry -70% Payback

Briggs Jr: 12-15 years of age, 300 pound minimum / gold restrictor plate - $25 entry - 70% Payback

Briggs Heavy: 15+ years of age, 360 pound minimum - $25/entry - 70% Payback

Jr. Sportsman Champ: 7-12 years of age, 315 pound minimum turquose restrictor Burris SS44/55 or M15 tires - $20/entry - 70% Payback

Sr. Champ/Blue Wazoom Engines: 12+ years of age, Burris SS44/55 or MI5 tires - $20 entry - 70% Payback

Blue Wazoom 410 pound minimum

Flat Head Engines 360 pound minimum

Animal Engines 360 pound minimum 3 hole Gold Plate .312

Kid karts: 4-8 years of age - 50cc COMER MOTORS ONLY, NO EXCEPTIONS - $5 entry - Trophy Class

 

Any and all weights may be changed during the season with prior advance notice to the go-kart racing teams.

Classes of competition * classes mav be added or deleted at Baer Field Speedway’s discretion.

The intent of the Econo classes is for the beginner racer.

 

GENERAL RULES / W.K.A. RULES APPLY WITH LOCAL OPTIONS

All junior class racers must show a valid birth certificate for age verification. Full or partial body pieces allowed in all classes. Snell 2000 or newer rated helmets and neck collars are required. No mirrors, wings, or radio devices allowed. Four number panels required, one on each side of kart. Numbers must contrast in color to its background color. All added weight must be painted white and bolted on with a 5/16" or larger (double-nutted) bolt. Go-karts will be randomly inspected and weighed after racing. The Briggs karts will be allowed to use an aftermarket piston rod. No extended piston rods will be allowed. All karts must pass safety inspection before entering on track.

Illegal Equipment: Driver will lose all points and awards for that event with the possibility of being fined money and/or additional

Loss of points at the discretion of track officials. Continued offenses will result in further loss of points and/or suspension from competition.

Rough Driving Disqualification: Driver loses all points and awards for rough driving in any of their individual races. Continued offenses will result in further loss of points and/or suspension from competition,

Sportsmanship/Fighting Rules: Owners and drivers are responsible for the actions of their team members. Verbal abuse or threats directed at any individual(s) including officials, participants, and/or spectators win result in ejection for the rest of the event; loss of points and awards for that event; with the possibility of being fined additional points at the discretion of officials. Continued offenses will result in further loss of points and/or suspension from competition. At the discretion of management, Baer Field Speedway has the right to enforce a zero tolerance policy regarding fighting. Baer Field Speedway also has the right to suspend anybody at any time, for any reason.

Protest Rule: Any competitor wanting to protest in his/her class must deposit one hundred dollars ($100.00) to the tech man before the start of his/her feature. Following the feature the competitor being protested will have his/her kart inspected. Fifty dollars ($50.00) will always go to the tech man. The remaining Fifty dollars will go to the driver being protested if he/she passes inspection. The protester will receive the fifty dollars ($50.00) if the protested kart is found to be illegal.

Points Fund: To be eligible for the year ending points fund, you must be present at twelve (12) points paying races. Your best sixteen (16) points paying races will be counted toward year ending points. Further point rules available on website. All Racers must be a registered 2008 Baer Field Kart Member to be eligible for the points fund at years end. No points will be awarded unless you are a Registered 2008 Baer Field Speedway Karting Member.

ECNO CLASS BRIGGS & STRATTON 5 HP BOX STOCK ENGINE RULES:

All 5 h.p. Briggs & Stratton parts with absolutely no modifications. Pipe: open /fuel: gasoline only. Factory O.E.M. cams only (absolutely no modifications) no ground or twisted cams. No decking, no head decking, or port work allowed. Unaltered rod and piston and O.E.M. piston rings only. No offset timing key-factory O.E.M. stock carb only. W.K.A. specification air filter adaptor and air filter only. After-market dipper, fuel tank bracing and carb brace allowed. Clutch: max toque non-adjustable clutch (absolutely no modifications) plus a chain guard required.
